So for the past several evenings, I’ve been trying to log in to the online banking of my photography business account. The money moving in and out of there does so very slowly, so I wasn’t really stressing about it. But tonight, I really wanted to get the books straight, so I called the available 24/7 customer support. A man named “Mohamed” took my call. Took a few mintues to get my identity verified, caught off guard a bit too here, when asked to supply month and year the account was opened. I said that I was having problems logging in to the website. Before I said anything else, Mohamed said they were having some technical issues with the website and to please try again in a few hours. I said that I was having trouble logging in to just one out of two different accounts, so I wanted to address the problem with that specific account specfically. When he asked me the username on the account I told him, to which he replied that I was incorrect. What? Oh, son of a bitch. I remember now – I used a completely different username when registering than what I had been thinking. What an idiot!
So after I login to the website successfully with this account, I drift to thinking about his original statement – that the website was having technical difficulties. I wonder if that’s what he tells everyone that calls? That’s not to far fetched to believe right? Cuts down on call volume?
